Selecting the right hardware for industrial CT reconstruction with the Voxray QRT is essential to balance performance and cost-effectiveness. This article outlines minimum requirements and our recommended systems for different detector sizes.
CPU
A CPU with AVX2 support is required.RAM
The RAM must be large enough to hold both the projection data and the reconstructed volume. In our benchmark, sample reconstructions with a 2k² detector required 50GB of RAM, with a 3k² detector 130GB and with a 4k² detector 250GB.Graphics card(s)
We support Nvidia GPUs of the Turing, Ampere, Ada and Blackwell architectures as long as it has at least 16GB of VRAM.We recommend the latest generations of GPUs (Ada, Blackwell) for the best performance.
We support multiple GPUs for parallel processing.
Operating System
Windows 10 or 11.We recommend using a high-end mainboard of the latest generation. Make sure all GPUs are connected to the mainboard with a 16xPCIe5 slot and these PCIe slots are spaced according to the GPU size.
